A near perfect simulation of driving, Gran Turismo 7 is a must play for any racing fan. With a vast array of cars, tracks and an in-depth mode, it's a love letter to the fans of the series.

Gran Turismo 7

Coming from "arcady" racing titles like Need for Speed and Burnout, I was never a fan of the "sim-racing" genre. The games always had a high curve of entry, and I never had the patience to learn the mechanics of each car, or the tracks. But when I got my hands on Gran Turismo 7, I was blown away by the attention to detail and the sheer amount of content the game had to offer.

Love that this game covers all their vehicles and tracks in a museum-like fashion. The game has a vast array of cars, from the humble Suzuki Swift to the mighty Bugatti Veyron, and each car feels unique to drive.

The photo mode in the game is also a treat, with the ability to take photos of your car in various preset locations. The replay feature is a feat in itself!

I've probably spent more time taking photos than actually racing heh.

The GT-R is simply lovely among the non "racing" cars.

And of course you can never go wrong with a lambo.

The game has a vast array of tracks as well, from the tight corners of the Tokyo Expressway to the high-speed straights of the Le Mans circuit. Each track has its own unique feel to it, and you'll have to learn the intricacies of each track to master them.

But the moment of zen for me was when I got to experience the title in VR. It's completely game changing, with the ability to look around the cockpit, and feel the speed around each corner. It's a must try for anyone who has a PSVR headset, and hopefully folks will get to experience this on PCVR as well.

All rear-view mirrors also work in VR, you can see the cars behind you approach.

The overtakes are so much more satisfying in VR.

The foveated rendering seems a bit extreme in snaps, but in practice, you barely notice it at all.

Pair this with a good racing wheel, and you're in for a treat. The game has a vast array of settings to tweak, from the driving assists to the camera settings, and you can make the game as easy or as hard as you want.

Another holy-crap moment was at the Nürburgring, taking a Ferrari around the track, and the weather switched to night! It was a completely different experience, and I had to rely on the headlights to navigate the track. This was a treat in the OLED VR headset.

It's so much harder to find a pit stop entry at night too!

Platinum is playing hard to get! I've been playing for a while now, and I'm still not even close to the platinum trophy. It's a grind, but it's a fun grind. The game has a vast array of challenges, from the driving school to the circuit experience, fun "missions", online competitions, and the GT Cafe. There's always something to do in the game, and you'll never run out of things to do.

150 hours in the game so far, and I'm not bored! It's like playing Hitman WoA.

It's a lot of space on the SSD, but I keep visiting it from time to time! A must play for anyone and everyone!
