Dive into Ancient Greece in this installment of Assassins Creed. Explore the islands on foot and horseback, sail across the Aegan sea on a ship. Even with a weak RPG and combat system and repetitive gameplay, it is fun to explore.
What' good
- Great vistas
- Good soundtrack
What' not so
- Gets repetitive very soon
- Combat is eh
- Too many RPG elements
Assassins Creed: Odyssey
Well, here we are in Ancient Greece. Let's dive in.
In classic AC fashion, we've an eagle.
Well shit, the plague is here too.
Well at least there are some famous characters from the time period to interact with.
Still a better healthcare system than in modern day 'murica.
The Greek sure do know how to name people, heh.
Uh huh, so you say.
Me too, Pythagoras, me too. Didn't you have a theorem to write?
To anyone who orders the crew to stop the sea shanties, what is wrong with you!
The game is quite nice visually, even on a base PS4. Now with the next gen 60fps patch, it's even more fun to explore.
100v100 battles are fun at first, but they get boring as they are all the same. Same goes for the MANY MANY "camps", "bases" and "forts" to clear out.
The leveling never stops! And there's a level cap to progress the story after 10-ish hour mark. Ubisoft really wants you to pay for "leveling up faster" if you wanted to only do the main story. And everything is tied to your level! Looting is nuts too, there's always some L69 epic gear to pickup that renders my L40 legendary item worthless,... unless I grind for hours to level it up.
Shoot and (partial) miss then, still I had fun with it, enough to jump back in after the main story to do the DLCs (which are even weirder lol), and get the platinum (Damn that tiny island).
