A better Assassins Creed title than any other modern Assassins Creed title. Ghost of Tsushima does open world games justice. A must play!
What' good
- Expansive open world
- Amazing music
- Gameplay and performance
- Story and characters
What' not so
- Side content a bit lacking
A brilliantly made open world game with a pretty decent story, great performances that even manages to run smoothly (even on a PS4) is a testament to the capabilities of Sucker Punch.
Ghost of Tsushima
You can pet a fox!
The Haiku scenes to compose and reflect are a good break from standard open world activities.
Dynamic weather systems in the game can makes anything look pretty. You can customize a lot of parameters including time of day in the photo mode. This makes for some interesting 24 hour screenshots!
The autumn color palette looks so appealing!
So are the cherry blossoms! A dream of spring!
Some characters are well written and acted. There's also a Kurosava mode that renders a grainy black and white wide-screen presentation in Kurosava's iconic style.
Duels are very intense in the game! Requiring razor sharp reflexes as they would in real life.
The combat stances offer a variety of options to just use the sword. There's also the bow and throwables like bombs using a sling. A wide variety of environmental options are available for slashing your foes!
Still, nothing beats a well executed katana finisher!
Highly recommended. Loved (almost) every moment I spent in this world.
